In the Chicago area I-90 changes character as it goes. Northwest of the city it is the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, passing Elgin and Schaumburg on its way toward O'Hare and Rockford. Closer in it becomes the Kennedy Expressway, shared with I-94, and south of downtown it follows the Dan Ryan before turning east onto the Chicago Skyway toward Indiana.

On the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, trucks stop for flat tires, overheating, air problems and electrical faults between Elgin, Schaumburg and the O'Hare area. Tollway shoulders are narrow in places and traffic is fast, so help needs to find you quickly and accurately.
On the Kennedy and the Dan Ryan, I-90 is shared with I-94 and is often congested, so the nearest exit or cross street matters more than the mile marker.

Direction of travel (toward Rockford or toward Chicago), the nearest exit or cross street, a mile marker if you can safely see one, and what the truck is doing. Turn on your hazard lights and stay away from live lanes.

Yes. We go to trucks on the shoulder of I-90 and diagnose and repair on location when it is safe to do so. Call with your direction and nearest exit.
